It was a red sort of day. A beautiful Sunday afternoon followed by Columbus Day. The Red of Braveheart/Chadmar destroyed the boys in blue. A couple of young guns named Juan Uranga and Carlos Nash joined up with one old-fella named Joe, as in Smokin’ Joe Henderson. They burned the Blue pretty bad as they piled it on and ran away with a big silver cup in the 8-goal Tournament at Santa Barbara.
The Braveheart/Chadmar took off early and rarely turned around on their mission to go home as the 2008 Champs. Young Juan replaced Zedda, who has been awesome thus far. Carlos stood in for the young patron of Braveheart for a weekend and did a great job by providing some serious support for the red team. He made big goal shots and provided excellent defensive work. This was the second of three tournaments this fall and the final one of the season starts this coming Saturday, with 5 teams competing.
In Argentina it was Mother Nature ruling the day as the finals of the first of the Triple Crown has been rescheduled to Wed. afternoon. On a sad note Mrs Nancy Walker of Long Beach died recently. We are sorry to report this news. She was the head Lady of the famous Walker Clan and she also was the First Lady of the Santa Barbara Polo Club for the last 40 years. Nancy and Kenny Walker kept it all going for so long. She was often seen and seldom heard, but everyone knew who she was. Nancy was a huge polo fan who will be dearly missed at the Club. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Walker Family.
See ya.
