USPA Circuit Presidents Cup
Rumbles in Santa Barbara
By Andy Smith

First and second round games were played on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th of September on our beautiful lush green fields. Mansour was the favorite going into the competition and proved their worth by winning both matches and ending the weekend with a perfect 2-0 record. Matt Walker, and Matt Ladin were outstanding all weekend and are assured a spot in the finals next Sunday. The most exciting match of the weekend was the 3:00 pm game on Sunday. Duende was on fire in the first half led by Dan Walker, and Rob Yackley shooting 4-4 from the 60 yd penalty line. They were ahead 12-5 after the end of the 4th chukker. But then Roberto Zedda led the comeback in the 5th as all four players scored to make the score 12- 10. Zedda then brought them within one goal 12-11, but the rally ended as Dan Walker scored on a #2 penalty, Zedda scored one more but time ran out before Triton was able to score the equalizer. Final Score Triton 12, Duende 13.
