The Will Rogers Polo Club finished the 2011 season with two very exciting tournaments.

In the 4 goal flight of the Will Rogers Memorial Tournament, the Fair Hills team of Domingo Questal, Bill Davis, Graydon Brittan and Andrew Bossom took on Team Goel (Manny Questal, Lolo Payan, Sean Goel and Soheil Goel). After two days of intense chukkars, the cumulative score was 16/14 in favor of Fair Hills. For Fair Hills, Bill Davis had 8 goals, Domingo had 5, Graydon added 2 and Andrew added 1. For team Goel, Manny Questal scored 13 of the teams 14 goals, with Lolo Payan scoring the other goal. Bill Davis was the tournament MVP and Domingo Questal’s horse Mariah receiving best playing pony honors.

In the 2 goal flight, three teams played in a 2 day, round robin format. After the first day, Centaur Polo (Ernie Darquea, Ted Okie, Tom Sherman and Soheil Goel) and Atlant (Lolo Payan, Bolko Kissling, Conrad Kissling and Ernesto Bautista) faced off in the finals and ended in a 5 to 5 tie. For Centaur, Ernie and Soheil each had 2 goals and Ted Okie had 1 goal. For Atlanta, Conrad lead with 3 goals, Lolo and Bolko each added 1 goal. Lolo Payan was the 2 goal flight MVP.

Hector Sustaita - Torrey Ripinsky, Richie Merluza , Manny Questal Tariq Amin

The 9th Annual Hector Sustaita Memorial Tournament was a match-up of Malibu (Manny Questal, Richie Merluzza, Tarik Amin and Torrey Ripinsky) vs. Santa Monica (Ernie Darquea, Soheil Goel, Sean Goel and Tom Sherman). Malibu prevailed by a score of 8 to 5, lead by 5 goals from Manny Questal. Richie added 2 goals, Tariq added 1 goal. Ernie, Soheil and Tom each had 1 goal, Sean goel had 2. Sean’s horse Saki was named best playing pony, Manny Questal was the tournament MVP.
