They are two of the most successful patrons in polo here in Santa Barbara and one patron is one of two local Boys from this area.
Ben Solemoni, a local Patron
Patron of the Mansour team, he is also CEO of one of the top high-end rug companies in the World. His Father Ben Sr. has always had his doubts about polo. It is part of this heritage as he is a Persian. The Persians claim to be the first home of polo. Ben is a wild horse. He plays polo like he chases women . . . non-stop and wide-open. He brings his team to the threshold of the semis with a 1 and 1 record. Despite the fact they play Grant’s Farm and he is ready. Ben is in a little bit of a hurry most of the time and he is not sure why. He loves polo and to go fast. Ben has always been a major supporter of both Santa Barbara and Indio. He also played in the Hampton’s last year.
SCOTT WOODS , a Texan
Scott Woods was born a Texan and lives there. He is a tall Texan made for Texas and has no doubt that Texas is Texas. He is an Oilman and that just adds to the Texas theme. Scott is head of ERG gas & oil and he is on the phone 24 -7 because he likes to sleep an hour. He is always on the move. Scott has a gorgeous Wife named Tana and a wild child who wants to be a skateboard Champ. So he should take up Polo . . . it’s safer. ERG in the running for the semis. They just have to win one more game and that is Sunday at 3 PM
See ya.
