. . . coast to coast and England to California. It is hard to say where to start, but we will start right here in the Prunie Land.

In San Diego it was Phoenix jumping all over Madison Square/Tritech and still saving a slight chance to make the finals. By all gossip accounts, Gary Haydon the Phoenix Patron, was the big gun in front of the Palomino (Jason Crowder), Tomas Obergon and Jessica Bailey Mano. They got it done and now they wait on the other teams to see if where they will be on Sunday . . . in the tent or on the field? In the other 8-10 Goal game it was the Surfer (Diego Cossio) rubbing out the Double D’s (Danny Juarez and Daniel Rowlands) as in Kelly’s Ohana Team. The Gypsy/OC squad with 2 ladies (Shelley Geiler and Suzanne Figi) 1 upped the others so there is a fairly big scramble to head to on Friday. Almost any team can make it to the Finals on Sunday.

The 3 R’s made it in the 4-goal finals as Robin and Rick Paicious and Rocket Robert Kiger (True Choice/OC) are headed to the main field on Sunday for the finals. They do not know who they play yet. Up in Santa Barbara it was almost as unbeliveable as England. Gehache lost in the final 5 seconds to ERG/GF in the finals of the Robert Skene Tournament. They are a senior team and only rated 16 goals, but Ruby was fired up and the Bake was shaking. They just needed someone to hit the #4’s straight 60 yards, but it was not to be. So ERG/Grants Farm took home the big silver here. Paco was the MVP as he made a #4 with 5 seconds to go to win it.

In Greenwich, CT in the finals of the East Coast Open it was the Torrid Torres Brothers, the Mig (Miguelito Torres, Jr.) and the Rocket (Santi Torres) getting a huge win. In the middle of the country it was Jofie (Joseph Stuart) and crew from Mount Brilliant trying to get to the finals next Sunday with a big win. They need one to make it there.

Across the pond in England, in the biggest tournament of them all, there are 20 teams competing in 22- goal polo. It was like Barry Bonds striking out 50 times in a row. Adolfo Cambiaso got beat. The King of them all L O S T. That has not happened in a long time, maybe a year or more. It was two of the players he knows best Eduardo and Nachi Heguy with a team called Les Lions. Dubai lost for the first time, but will not be in the semis in ’07. It boils down to the final 4 teams. Some older greats are there like Carlos Gracida, who has more Gold Cups than England, with Elleston White as they take on a very young and strong Loro Piana with a couple of young superstars Nero and Pelon. In the other one its Lechuza with the mighty Merlos Brothers as in Sebe and Pite vs. the big surprises of Les Lions with the Heguy’s and Mr. Gottschalk trying to get to the finals. They do have to deal with Mr. Vargas in this one.

Hidden Creek PC near Portland, OR was quiet for a few days as Sean Keys tries to figure out how to beat Wild Bill Freeman. In Calgary, Canada Little Mac (Frederick Mannix) was on the attack as they blew by Smoking Joe Henderson in the first one.
So get ready to see Polo wherever you are. It is always very nearby if the weather is good! See ya.
