Polo is easliy known as the fastest team-sport in the World. It is naturally dangerous and this makes it so exciting for the spectator. So why are there not more of them? It takes time and some good public relations. Take Santa Barbara Polo Club for example. The Club is 50 minutes from the entertainment capital of the World (Los Angeles) and probably 10 minutes more from a base of 30 million people. Watching polo is a cheap family day in the sun and no sand in your shoes, so why is it so lonley on Sunday? Because who knows that the Club is there and open to the public on Sunday afternoons? I gave out a 100 or so tickets a couple weeks ago and people said is it open to Public and can you come dressed normal or what? I can not believe these people live 5 minutes from polo club and do not know they are welcome. That is what PR is. It is so easy and can really work. So look at your club and ask a few of the spectators about how they learned about the club. Ask people outside of the Club if they have heard about the club and if they knew it was open to the public on Sunday. Maybe they are as those individuals I spoke to. The may not know they are welcome.

Polo today was important in some places. San Diego for instance. The Other Team @ Reggie White production in the 10-Goal destroyed Miss Kelly Maloney, so they head to the finals where they meet Lisa Bosstick and Silent Chris Maloney who have a party planned after the game. So be there. It will be fun. In Santa Barbara its Audi/Klentner taking on Long Beach and there chances are long on winning, but its polo, nobody knows.

Across the Pond in the U.K. Its Tom Barrack and Ellerston taking the final step to the finals of the British Open. They meet the surprise of it all “Sumaya.” It will be a war as Superstore meets Mom & Pop. On the otherside its American Julio Arellano with Brittany taking on another Superstore Loro Piano. So if they win it will also be a surprise as the two super stores are very organized operations not that Brittany & Sumayco are not. Its just another level, but in Polo nobody knows thats why we play it.

East Coast High Goal gets rockin’ in the Hamptons this week with the Mercedes Cup. Calgary is moving as well as Chicago and most places North of the Mason Dixon Line. It’s summer polo from coast-to-coast just mainly north as its sunny time, just a little cooler. Step out and see the game it just might be fun for you and your family. See ya.
