U.S. Polo Players Survive Earthquake In Chile
Newport Polo Club, RI Players Are Stuck In Chile

Polo Player Stephanie Still and her 6 teammates from Newport Polo Club in RI where competing in a polo tournament in Chile at the time of the massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake. The RI Polo Players are still in Chile and unable to get out due to the infrastructure damage and the airport closures. They are sleeping in tents to keep safe from the numerous aftershocks. Stephanie, who is a nurse, treated some of her teammates for minor injuries after the quake. View a video of her interview and the news coverage.
Their next scheduled tournament was planned for Jamaica and they are not sure if they will be able to get out of Chile in time to compete. The good news is that they are all okay and safe.
Stephanie Still is an amateur polo player from Newport, RI. She works as a nurse and has played polo at many clubs throughout the U.S., Argentina, Jamaica and Chile. Her primary club is Newport Polo Club in RI.
