Agua Alta Scappino won the finals of the VIII Copa Agua Alta 2007 by defeating Alemania SIF BF in a very close match. In the final chukker the score was tied several times and the winning goal was scored during the last 30 seconds of the match. Congratulations Agua Alta Scappino! Well done.

Every year during Easter Week polo players and spectators from around the World travel to Coasta Careyes, Jalisco Mexico for the annual Copa Agua Alta Polo Tournament.

This year the 8-Goal Polo Tournament has drawn players from Mexico, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, U.K., Peru, USA, Australia, Italy, Portugal and Colombia.

Teams for this popular tournament are organized early in the year as La Copa Agua Alta has become very competitive and a much sought-after cup. The beautiful beaches and accomodations of Coasta Careyes are amazing. Coupled with good polo, green fields and an international crowd you have a polo paradise.

The Costa Careyes Polo Club is located in Costa Careyes which is 1.25 hours from Manzanillo or 2.5 hours from Puerto Vallarta. The Club’s season runs from mid November through mid April. There are two regular sized Bermuda polo fields, stabling for 100 horses, horses available to rent by the chukker, and tournaments 6-12 goals. There is also a womens tournament each season. Clinics and lessons are also available. The Club is scheduled to host the FIP 2007 Zone Playoffs in the beginning of May ’07.

Update as of April 5th, The Alemania SIF BE is 4 and 0 with a guaranteed spot in the Finals. The games on Friday will determine who they will play on Saturday. Alemania are the defending champs from 2006. Bolko Kissling, patron of Alemania, is competing for the 7th time in this tournament. He has made it to the finals 6 times and has won the Copa Agua Alta twice already. Bolko is hoping for a third victory and to take the silver home with him to Germany.
