
Audi Polo Defeats Piocho 16-15
The first high-goal match of the season kept polo fans on the edge of their seats. Piocho Ranch got together a team to play in the Mayor’s cup against Audi, consisting of TJ Barrack, Memo Gracida, Julio Gracida and Matt Ladin. Matthew proved that he is just as handy in high goal polo as he is in 8 goal by hitting many solid penalty shots and making some great plays from the field. Piocho battled hard, but in the 6th chukker Audi’s superior horse-power gave them the edge. Audi scored far more goals from the field than Piocho, who made the majority of their goals from the penalty line. Julio Gracida made a great goal, hitting a backshot from the backline that ricocheted off the goal post and into the mouth of the goal. Kris Kampsen was a standout with 11 of Audi's 16 goals
6th chukker was particularly impressive as he dribbled the ball between the mallets of the agressive Piocho team. Piocho was ahead the entire game but Audi held on and never let them break away. This continues Audi’s undefeated streak in Santa Barbara from the 2008 season where they won all 14 of their tournament games. Next Sunday we will have the finals of the Bill Triller Memorial and will feature wine tasting by Margerum Winery. It is sure to be abother exciting match so make sure you attend!
