POLO DO IN FINALS OF BARRANTES

While SaraBoca/Tackeria held the lead for the majority of the match, it was never a large margin and Polo Do squeezed by in the sixth and final chukker to advance to the finals of the Hector and Susan Barrantes Memorial Cup with an 10-8 win in the semifinal at Saratoga Polo on Wednesday.

SaraBoca/Tackeria started out with the lead after a 3-0 run in the first chukker. After Tony Coppola added another in the second, it looked like it would be difficult for Polo Do to come back, but they finally responded in the second chukker when Michel Dorignac converted on an undefended penalty to the scoring going.

Polo Do slowly inched their back until they tied the score in fifth and briefly held the lead. SaraBoca/Tackeria responded to tie it up heading into the sixth, but Polo Do came out with a pair of goals, one from Dorignac early in the chukker and one from Luis Galvan late, to put the match just out of reach.

Polo Do will face off against Mt. Brilliant B in the finals of the Hector and Susan Barrantes Memorial Cup at Saratoga Polo on Sunday, August 20th at 5:30pm. The consolation match to the tournament will be on Friday, August 18th at Saratoga Polo at 5:30pm. The next match at Saratoga Polo will be the Thoroughbred Stakes on Thursday, August 17th at 5:30pm.
