Oak Brook, IL…An afternoon of polo and cultural activities is planned on Sunday, August 27, at the Oak Brook Polo Club.
At 1 p.m., the Argentine-American Midwest Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Argentina will host the third-annual Argentine-American Chamber Polo Cup, with the USA team competing against Argentina.
At 3 p.m., Catamount (from Grand Rapids, MI and Palm Beach, FL) will compete against Morgan Creek in the high-goal Morgan Creek Cup. Professional players from Argentina, Mexico and other countries will compete in both tournaments.
In addition, three alumni clubs from the University of Chicago will host an outing in the field-side tent.
Traditional Argentine food, prepared by a Chicago-area Argentine caterer and bakery, will be available for purchase. Food items include an authentic asado (barbecue), empanadas and other customary fare.
General admission tickets are available at the gate and are $10 adults; $5 senior citizens. Children under 13 and parking are free.
Entrance to the polo grounds is at 31st Street and Polo Drive, one-half mile west of York Road in Oak Brook. Bring a lawn chair for seating. Dress is casual and everyone is welcome.
