ARGENTINE ORGANIZATIONS HOST DAY AT OAK BROOK POLO

Oak Brook, IL…An afternoon of polo and cultural activities is planned on Sunday, August 26, at the Oak Brook Polo Club.

At 1 p.m., the Argentine-American Midwest Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Argentina will host the fourth-annual Argentine-American Chamber Polo Cup, with the USA team competing against Argentina.

At 3 p.m., teams will compete in the high-goal Villa del Lago Cup. Professional players from Argentina, Mexico and other countries will compete in both tournaments.

Traditional Argentine food, prepared by a Chicago-area Argentine restaurant and bakery, will be available for purchase. Food items include an authentic asado (barbecue), empanadas and other customary fare.

General admission tickets are available at the gate and are $10 adults; $5 senior citizens. Children under 13 and parking are free.

Entrance to the polo grounds is at 31st Street and Polo Drive, one-half mile west of York Road in Oak Brook. Bring a lawn chair for seating. Dress is casual and everyone is welcome.
