Come to the Golden Polo Days of Gstaad from 16–19 August 07 in Gstaad/Switzerland
Stefano Marsaglia reinforces his team Land Rover.
The quarter finalist of the British Open that just ended, Stefano Marsaglia from Italy, is replacing his second amateur (Fabien or Sasha Pictet) with an experienced player from Argentina. Tomas Ruiz Guinazu (hcp. 4) and Francisco Irastorza (hcp. 6) will be playing with the 8 goaler Santiago Chavanne upting the team handicap to a total of 18.
The favourites at the HSBC Guyerzeller Gold Cup in Gstaad.
All four teams are well balanced in regards to their playing strength on the different positions that lead us to believe that extremely exciting games can be expected with a tight finish.
In all of the teams one can find two players who play well together well and who have been able to distinguish themselves in high goal tournaments: In the HSBC Guyerzeller team the Argentineans Bachmann/Jauretche who can determine a game by themselves; in the Land Rover it is the patron Marsaglia who makes a great team with the 8 goaler Chavanne, in the Team Gstaad Palace we are well acquainted with Tillous and Gassiebayle whose performance we have seen in many tournaments and the Frenchman Levrat of the Nespresso team knows exactly what he is to expect of Novillo Astrada.
On the third professional position in all four teams players with the handicaps 4, 5 or 6 will be found. Due to this the (amateur) patrons will possibly be the deciding factors on which team will win the game. If this will be the case then the teams HSBC Guyerzeller and Land Rover should be favourites as their captains Philipp Maeder from Switzerland and Stefano Marsaglia from Italy are the most experienced and hardy patrons in this field of players.
Full length broadcast of the final games by U1TV.
There will be a broadcast on the Swiss cable TV channel U1 on the 25th of August for those who cannot be in Gstaad during the final of the tournament or for the ones who would like to take another look at it.
In the run-up to the delayed broadcast of the tournament the spectators of U1 (a channel that can be received in 1.6 million households and is watched daily by 200’000 spectators) will be familiarized with the polo Gstaad topic every day with a half an hour program.
Attractive polo village with many exhibitors.
Besides the already familiar exhibits of the the newest Land Rover and Range Rover models the polo village will draw the attention of the spectators with a lifesize PC12 jet from the company Jetfly.
In addition to these large exhibition objects the marquees of Nespresso, Salgesch Wine or Argentina, with its wines will offer tastings of their products; the fashion corner will be represented by companies such as Trois Pommes and StarDesign, as well as polo gear from La Martina in the Lorenz Bach marquee which will most probably attract the most attention.
Rob Spence, the star of the Polo Night in the VIP marquee.
The necessary preparations for the polo night with a lounge atmosphere in the VIP marquee on Saturday night are well underway.
For the ones who know the comedian Rob Spence from Australia know that it will most certainly be a night full of laughs before midnight when the legendary GreenGo Nightclub of the Gstaad Palace will come to life in the VIP marquee.
