In a four chukker exhibition match billed as the 2015 Polo Soiree at the Hawaii Polo Club, Team Porsche (Melissa Ganzi, Chris Dawson, Herman Louie DeCoite and Juan Bollini) staged a five goal, fourth chukker rally to score a come-from-behind 7-3 win over Team Mercedes-Benz (Tiare Paty, Mark Becker, Julian Alvarez and Nic Roldan).
Mercedes-Benz took the early lead on a pair of goals from the field from Tiare Paty who was the grateful recipient of a couple of pin-point passes in front of the Porsche goal that resulted in scores, 2-0. Event organizer, Chris Dawson, got Team Porsche on the scoreboard to end the chukker as he followed up on a miscue by teammate Mark Becker in the Mercedes-Benz goalmouth, 2-1.
Sixty-three-year-old Herman Louie DeCoite tied the game in the second chukker but a well-executed shot on goal by American 8-goaler Nic Roldan kept Mercedes-Benz in front, 3-2, at the end of the first half.
Both teams took defensive stands in the third chukker while missing on a number of scoring opportunities. Long passes to his forwards by Roldan were mishandled as Mercedes-Benz missed a number of scoring opportunities. Melissa Ganzi came close to scoring on a number of occasions with a cut shot on goal bouncing off the goal posts and ricocheting clear of the goal in a scoreless third period.
Juan Bollini picked up a loose ball in fourth chukker action and drove it through the Mercedes-Benz goalposts to tie the game at 3-3. Bollini gave Team Porsche their first lead of the game as he carried the ball from a Penalty 5 through the opposition to give Team Porsche their first lead of the day, 4-3. A third Bollini goal had Mercedes-Benz trailing, 5-3. Roldan continued firing the ball forward, but his efforts were lost on mis-hit balls or shots off of goal. DeCoite added his second goal of the game on a nearside fore shot, 6-3 and Dawson scored his second goal of the afternoon on a pass from Bollini for the final 7-3 score.
Bollini led all scoring with three goals and received MVP honors for his efforts. DeCoite and Dawson added two goals apiece for the win. Paty led the scoring for Mercedes-Benz with two goals and Roldan added a goal in the loss.
