237 years ago, almost to the day, the British armed forces made their first foray into the Brandywine Valley. On September 14th, 2014 they will be returning with a British Forces Polo Team to take on a local Brandywine Polo team. No need to mention who won the original meeting.

The match between The British Forces Team and The Brandywine Polo Team is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Brandywine Polo Club grounds, followed by the awards ceremony. Music will begin after the awards and vendors will be open until 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to buy a field side tailgate spot or bring blankets or chairs to enjoy the day and are welcome to pack a picnic.
The British Forces Polo Team is made up of current and retired members of the British military including The Queen’s Royal Lancers, The King’s Royal Hussars and The Rifles infantry regiment. The members of this team have played worldwide in places such as Palermo, Argentina; Palm Beach, FL; Ghana; India and Pakistan. Several members have played on teams with Prince Harry.

Money will be raised during the British team’s visit in support of the British Forces Foundation and the Semper Fi Fund.
