Outside The Boards is one of eight programs offered by Kris Bowman’s USPA Polo Development, LLC team. True to it’s name, the OTB program focuses on offering sage advise for opportunities outside the polo field, like sponsorship, marketing, pr, special events, alternative money generators, etc.

Need more spectators and want more community support for your Sunday Polo matches? My suggestion is to Call Your Mayor and invite him/her to throw out the first ball of polo season. By doing this you are inviting the local powers that be to participate and see first-hand your great polo club and its future possibilities for promoting their local charities and events. When you make the call, ask if there is a special award your community leader would like to present as part of the trophy ceremonies, such as policeman of the year, fireman of the year or citizen of the year, generating yet another story angle for local media to write about.
