They just keep winning … day after day, month after month, event after event. Cambiaso does it, but in a different way. He has about 20 different teammates over this time and it is a team game. Zenyatta runs against whoever dares in the races. Connecticut ladies basketball team has a four year program, but they are teammates for a long period of time. Cambiaso has the same team in only one place … the Arg. Open. The rest of the time the teams are put together for the various tournaments. Currently he won the Queen’s Cup in the UK today ,I am sure he has won the last 5 major tournaments in the World spanning from last Dec. in the Argentine Open to the biggest of them all and adding all 3 majors in the US and now the UK . THIS IS SOMETHING that may have never been done before and as far as I know it has not. Carlos Gracida has won all of the big 3 before including the US Open, the Gold Cup and the Argentine Open a few times, but never 5 majors in a row. Hats off to Cambiaso! He is coming to Santa Barbara for their 100th birthday, so come watch him play.
In Santa Barbara it was a family affair or a competition as Memo Gracida and Piocho Ranch took on Mr. Cecils and Julio Gracida, son of the Legend. The Legend was on the wrong side as sonny boy was rockin’ against Pop and led Cecil to the winners circle. Patron J.Burrows helped as well with a giant neck shot in the fifth to send them back up after a brief rally by Piocho Ranch. It was a good crowd and a nice day for June polo. It made it a fun day.
Farther South it was Opening day for San Diego Polo where the party never stops. This year, was just like the last decade, a great place to be and rockin’ as it was bound to be fun, fun, fun. Like Heather Chronert (the GM) says this is a fun Polo Club and that is the way it is. So do not stay home on Sunday. Go to Church and find the Polo club closest to you. It will be worth it and if it is San Diego … bring your sleeping bag cause you will not leave until you go away.
