On November 8th through 13th, the Houston Polo Club will host the Cartier USPA U.S. Women’s Open, in conjunction with the 17th Annual Houston Ladies Championship Tournament. Last held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in 1990, the U.S. Women’s Open will make its debut in the state of Texas in 2011, and will feature many of the world’s top women players competing at the 6 goal level. This National-level USPA event has been awarded to Houston after a 21-year hiatus, and is also recognized as the Houston area’s sixth Women’s Championship Tournament (WCT) Qualifier Tournament. World-renowned jeweler Cartier, the tournament’s title sponsor, will be joined by several other corporate partners during the week-long event, including Ralph Lauren Blue Label, SAKS Fifth Avenue, La Martina, Texas Polo, Tavaero Jet Charters, and William Grant and Sons. In conjunction with the USPA U.S. Women’s Open, Houston Polo Club’s 17th Annual Ladies Championship will also feature the Brazos Cup at 0-2 goal level, as well as the Farish Cup Invitational and Bayou City Cup Invitational leagues. Up to 18 women’s polo teams are expected to compete in the event, making it one of the largest women’s polo events in the world.
The winners of the 6-Goal event will compete for 2011 rights the perpetual U.S. Women’s Open trophy, as well as Cartier watches for each player, a Texas Polo saddle for the event’s MVP, and other prestigious awards. Polo players in the Cartier USPA U.S. Women’s Open and Brazos Cup leagues, which are both WCT Qualifier events, will also be qualified to play in the 2011 Women’s Championship Tournament Finals, to be held in Wellington, Florida.

Why no results?
Lynn this is the second most important tournament in the year because it is an open and no results. Do you not care anymore? Is it too much work to ask Pam Mudra to do her job?
Ever wonder why we can not get and keep sponsors, this is the reason why, just maybe all their monies are spend and then no advertsing in return. Who wants to sponsor something that gets thrown on the back burner and never served at the main meal?
