A Term normally used at Empire Polo’s Tavern has another meaning , it has been 34 years since a horse won the Triple Crown and several since one had a chance but ” I’LL HAVE ANOTHER ” IS THERE there have been 11 horses with this chance since 1978, can he be the one I think so.The last 11 Triple crown races have been won by a different horse Who cares you say but this could be magic for the Horse world it will take 3 weeks to know but here is hoping. Some trivia for you, not sure it is right but they said it on the air today in history there have been 6 jockey’s win the Kentucky derby on first try and all 6 have won the Preakness and another thing never before have 3 California horses been 1-2-3- in the finish. They will have to pay taxes however ! It still remains a mystery to me how in 1973 Secretariat won the triple crown and set the Kentucky Derby record and it has never been broken and only very close once with all our new technology this is a slap in the face the humans now run 3 to 5 seconds faster car go much faster on the track it is a mystery and I hope I Will Have Another does win the Triple Crown it would change a lot when you think 20,000 baby’s are born ever year with a chance to win the Triple it is astounding the number it is aprox. 680 thousand to 1 that’s how many Fillies and colts have been born to run legally in the triple Crown since 1973. Or another figure is about 700 have went to th Post for the Derby the reason I use the Derby is if you want to win the triple crown it starts here .
On the Polo scene it is Andy Busch and Danny Walker sort of kicking ass in SB as they head to the finals for the big one in the 12 goal as Palm Desert/Long beach and Captain Dan Horn seem on a mission. Houston probably has more Polo than anyone on this continent than anyone at this time. UK high goal 22 starts now and they have 16 teams in the first one the Queens Cup. Kind of sad it is the most expensive Polo on earth and they have 16 teams and bad weather we have 4 and awesome weather. I do believe things will change as Santa Barbara has hired a Polo Player and a Brain to change it and that is Bob Puetz, I think we will see it grow after cleaning house of non polo people from President to Management we very well may see a new and friendly Santa Barbara Polo Club and I have no doubt we could see with a smile and can I help you attitude 12 to 15 teams soon . There is no better place to play Polo in July – August so why not!
