Two horses from the 52nd and Madison stabling of Empire spiked fevers this morning. Both had received the immune stimulator Zylexis yesterday. This medication can produce a reaction in normal horses and temperature spikes are not uncommon. As a precaution, they were moved to the isolation area and are being monitored. Both horses had normal temperatures by 5 PM. They will be monitored over the weekend and may have tests sent in on Monday to be on the safe side. It was too late to have any delivery or testing of samples on the weekend.
No other areas reported anything unusual.
