It was an awesome day a bit foggy early but a cool 72 degrees and perfect weather for polo . 1st chukkar came out fast as DW missed a shot immediately ans they would miss 3 more counting a # 2 and JHall came through with a big # 4 and one from the field to gain a 2 goal advantage at the end of # 1. The second started just as fast but up and down the field 4 penalty 5’s and 1 goal for the FM and score 2 to 1 with Lucchese still up . The 3 rd was all Lucchese as they won throw ins and controlled the play F&M missed a couple of chances but were dominated by uc. horses and team work to scor 3 to 1 and go into 12 time up 5 – 2 . at half time the Lucchese team had 9 fouls against 4 for . We worked on changes knowing they would change something and held them to a tie 2 to 2 in the 4 th again 2 fouls against 0 for final score for game at that time 7 to 4 and the fifth started wining 3 throw inns but giving uo 4 more fouls and still survived a tie with a great goal from Hall to end 5th start of the 6 th. score 8 to 5 always bad to have a 3 goal lead your team feels safe and other team is going to feel it and they did add 4 more fouls 4 missed goal shots and F&M scored 4 story over and game . They were supposed to Win and did but we should have . Dan Walker played outstandign as well as his team they had to replace a big cog on team Felipe Vercalino and brought in Toccilano an 8 goal player and mounted him very well and they got the job done sad to say . To me they did some odd gifts on players awards but only my opinion . We had good turnout of fans and field was not horrible and the same for both teams anyway The officals not sure till watch tape but it was 19 fouls against Lucchese and 5 not sure they blew them all . Will see . maybe next year it will be bigger and better it is the place to be no Hurricanes no 100 degree weather and no rain outs . That is Santa Barbara
