The Polo Report by Steve Crowder. Dan Horn returns to the high goal at a high rate of speed as he blows through round 1 with a 3 and 0 record. So it will be a repeat of last Sunday in the finals as Palm Desert goes for 4 versus Storm Cat, who should feel at home in the frozen tundra of Cochella Valley. Henry Walker and Dandy Dan will need the blood flowing to deal with the “Thunder from Down Under” as Fergus Gould and Craig Steinke head North looking for the winners circle. It was a very pretty day today as it was clear and sunny, but still so damn cold. It started early at 10 AM and it was Big Al showing its just a breeze as he blew by PoloBARN with Empire Polo. Then Parklane put Ore/Pac in their pocket and got a win. The Wolfman (Ashton Wolf) and Rancho Amistad went to their 3rd straight overtime game, but did it the hardway. It was Palm Desert doing a tapdance on Phoneix and from a ways off it was fish Creek 2 getting a much needed win from Rancho Santa Fe. Fish Creek stopped the Gray Ghost (Dempsey Mork) and his men and Lady (Shelley Geiler) from La Mancha. Mr. Smooth (Curt Hughes) kept on a roll as his Generation Motors purred right on down the drive and stopped Rapid Robert Kiger and True Choice. Over on the hard court it was Kentfield smokin’ JHHE. To finish the day it was the B boys (Bilo Zarif and Bolko Kissling) doing their best and taking Casa Sombres just past the rapidly improving and hard-riding Patron of Aspen Oaks big Ed Pope. He looks to be here to stay. So there it is . . . a frozen shell. Word on the street is that Danny Walker is recovering well from arm surgery and wants to stick and ball next weekend. He is a bit like Barbaro, just very  tough. So we hope both recover soon and well. Keep an eye out for frozen butter or maybe Parkay today. See ya
