Indio, CA (December 23, 2007) – Polo is a game of horses and it therefore seems fitting that ‘the horses’ ran away in the final of the World Gym Tournament at the Eldorado Polo Club on Sunday afternoon. The horses, of course, refer to Los Caballos and the running mentioned was in reference to their 9 – 5 victory over World Gym.
This one was never close as the ‘four horsemen’ absolutely dominated the weightlifters. In fact, World Gym could muster only one goal from the field as Los Caballos did what they had done during the entire tournament – run and score. If you can’t catch them, how can you stop them? Remy Muller, in his best game, had three goals (1 foul), with help from Victor Soto with three as well. Noel Muller with a pair and Craig Steinke with a single guaranteed the title.
The lone field goal for the fitness folks came from Wylie Uritz. Alvaro Tadeo was able to convert four penalty shots.
Los Caballos – Noel Muller 1, Craig Steinke 1, Victor Soto 2, Remy Muller.
World Gym – Wylie Uritz, Patrick Uritz, Alvaro Tadeo 2, Bob Puetz 2.
