The double J’s (Joseph Stuart and Jason Crowder) are rockin’. They have the Governor, Pat Nesbitt, at point and a monster named Nicolai Galindo at back. They are off to the races. Just sit back and wonder . . . when they hit they fly, when they do not they are going the wrong way. Today was more of the same for the first and second chukkers they seemed to always be going the wrong way and then fouling as Long Beach/Antelope built up a 5 goal lead. As usual they will not slow down and in the 3rd it was adios as they scored 5 in 5 and its all knotted up at half time. The 4 th was a trade off then in the 5th Windsor took the lead and Antelope/LB caught up in the 6th. With two pentalty # 1’s against Long Beach. M. Walker and S.Trotz did this for Windsor. Then Antelope/Long Beach ties it up, but within the last 30 seconds it was a # 4 against Antelope/Long Beach and Nicolai buried it. After a few earlier misses he made it. This win will send Windsor Capital to the Sunday finals next weekend. The Governor, Pat Nesbitt, played 6 chukkers, the other 3 played 4, but it worked. It was a weird day with weather. A bit ugly, cool and wet. The Manager was telling kids to slow down and be careful, like that might happen. By about the 3rd chukker it was back to full-flight. And yes it did cause fouls, but if they were all 10’s there would be fouls. If you want to gallop go to the track. Its polo season and its time to rock and roll. Its also time for the sun to return to Southern California. I hear it was 33 degrees C. in Buenos Aires, Argentina yesterday. That is about 94 F and its dead of winter there. It rained here, it snowed in Banning, CA and fires are burning in Santa Cruz. Go figure.
In Game 2 it was the feature of the day. A bit dreary after the first chukker, but it was Nicoma winning over Gechache as they go to 1 & 1. Gehache goes to 0 & 1.
From across the pond it was Mariano Gonzalez losing his first game in the Queens Cup. Ruki Baileu won his second. Juan Gris Zavaleta starts Monday and Julio Arellano lost his first game. Lyndon Lee (of Zacara) lost 1 and Pancho Bensado is down to 0 and 2. Pablo MacDonough, who played with Piocho 2 years ag,o is 2 and 0. Bossman of PIOCHO Tom Barrack won his first Queens Cup game filling in for Jamie Packer on the Ellerston Team. They beat Mariano Gonzalez and Le Lions 2. No results from New York or Aiken yet, but they will show up soon as will Houston. Thats all I know on May 25th so see you next weekend.
Have a very happy and safe Memorial Day. Take a moment to think what it means! – Steve Crowder.
