This will be the 2nd year in a row these two teams meet for the finals of the Pacific Coast Open (PCO). Last year Windsor was 1/2 team with Grant’s Farm. This year Duende has Carlos Galindo, Jr. not Henry Walker. Windsor brings in Chris Nevins and Sugar Erskine to replace Andy Busch and Jeff Blake. Here is the macthup by positions.

# 1 – Windsor has Sugar who is 7 goals. He is very tough and playing much better in this position and obviously he is experienced with 2 U.S. Open tournament finals in his trophy cabinet.

Duende has Carlos Galindo, Jr., who is 1 goal at #1. He is doing well for his first trip to this level and he is about 18 yrs old and getting valuable experience along with a lot of butt chewings from his high-goalers.

# 2 Windsor has Pat Nesbitt or Juan Jo Gonzalez (JJ). Both are 1-goal. One is 60 and 1 is 18, but both have been effective and JJ has done very well while Pat is out with an injuy (the Governor). He may be back today, but he is dealing with a nasty infection and a loss of condition for this level of polo.

Duende has Agustine Merlos at 10-goals. Agustin is the highest rated player here in Santa Barabara and he is obviously going to have the edge here as he is only 9 times better.

#3 Windor has Jeff Hall who is a wonder boy sometimes. I wonder how he does an amazing play and then seconds later, I wonder why the heck he did something else that was not too smart. Whatever he does, he tries, he fights and he is loyal to his team.

Duende has Paco De Naravez who is 9-goals and very strong like Hall. He is well mounted, has a tough side that latley is not always clean like that in the past. Paco is a very good student of the game and a leader on the field.

#4 Windsor has the Iceman (Chris Nevins), who had melted for a while, but seems to have lowered his temp. and hardened up when he takes a man and hits solid shots. He is doing things well in the defensive position.

Duende has the boss Big Mike Hakan. He has very good horses, plus he is hard to move out of a play and is an excellent pick man to use on set plays. Mike is outgunned in this position if the Iceman (Chris Nevins) is working.

Horses . . . the best are Jeff Hall’s and Paco de Narvarez.

So its all even on horsepower and players. Give the edge to Windsor. It should be Windsor at the helm, but this is polo and nobody knows !!!!! See you there.
