There will be no faceoff between Facundo Pieres and Adolfo Cambiaso in Santa Maria Polo Club’s Silver Cup this year as Dubai (2-1) and Ayala (2-1) were eliminated from the field in a Monday morning shootout with UAE (2-1) and Ellerston (2-1) advancing into the tournament semifinals on Wednesday.
The Silver Cup semifinals will have Scapa (2-0) meeting Ellerston while Halcyon Gallery (3-0) faces UAE (2-1). Both UAE and Ellerston suffered their only losses of the tournament to an Ayala team who was eliminated in Monday’s shootout.
Ellerston lost to Ayala on August 8th in a 16-12 game while UAE’s defeat came at the hands of Ayala on Sunday in a 18-17 shooting spree.
The current scoring leaders in Silver Cup competition are Sebastian Merlos and Facundo Pieres with 11 goals apiece.
