Evergreen T. J. Elordi, Roxy Keyfauver, Jared Sheldon and Goyo Mariscal) improved its record to 2-1 after running past Flowers Farms (David Flowers, Ernie Ezcurra, Erik Wright and Tom Sherman)12-8 in the January 4-goal League at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California Friday afternoon.

Flowers Farms charged out to 4-2 lead in the opening chukker with Ernie Ezcurra scoring twice and David Flowers and Erik Wright adding single goals.  T. J. Elordi and Goyo Mariscal each scored a goal for Evergreen, who trailed by two.

Wright added another goal for Flowers Farms in the second while Evergreen posted gaols from Jared Sheldon and Mariscal, cutting the lead to a single goal, 5-4.

Flowers added another goal in the third, but Evergreen picked up scores from Roxy Keyfauver and Sheldon to knot it up at 6-6.

The fourth period was all Evergreen, with Sheldon adding three goals to the total while Keyfauver chipped in another goal.  A miserly defense kept Flowers Farms ff of the scoreboard as Evergreen took a 10-6 lead.

Flowers and Wright added single goals in the final chukker but couldn’t make up enough ground.  Sheldon and Mariscal each added another goal for the 12-8 Evergreen (2-1) victory.

Sheldon was credited with a game high six goals.  Mariscal scored three times; Keyfauver added two; and Elordi added a single goal in the win.

Flowers and Wright scored three goals apiece for Flowers Farms (0-3).  Ezcurra accounted for two goals.
