Medium goal competition continued in the 2012 16-goal Everglades Classic Wednesday afternoon with Faraway notching an 11-8 win over previously unbeaten Mt. Brilliant at the International Polo Club in Wellington.

First chukker goals from Costi Caset and Sugar Erskine combined with shutout defense put Mt. Brilliant ahead, 2-0 in the early goings.

Second chukker action had Faraway getting a pair of goals from Mike Azzaro (one from the field and one on a penalty conversion) ad a goal from the field from Julian Daniels.  Mt. Brilliant responded with a single penalty goal from Caset and the game was deadlocked at 3-3.

Erskine scored once from the field for Mt. Brilliant but goals from Mason Wroe and Azzaro had Faraway leading 5-4 at the end of the first half.

Faraway looked like a new team in the fourth chukker, scoring five unanswered goals.  Wroe converted two penalty shots for goals and added another goal from the field.  Azzaro scored a goal from the field while Daniels scored on a penalty goal.  At the end of the period Faraway led by six goals, 10-4.

Mt. Brilliant picked up fifth chukker penalty goals from Chris Nevins and Erskine while Faraway seemed content to guard their lead.  After five periods of play, Faraway was still on top of a 10-6 score.

Azzaro scored his fifth goal of the day in the final chukker while Mt. Brilliant team captain, Bo Goodman, scored twice in the 11-8 Faraway victory.
