Bendabout Edges Audi To Capture Consolation Final
of Ylvisaker Cup presented by Cartier at International Polo Club

WELLINGTON, FL (February 15, 2007) – Ten-goaler Miguel Novillo Astrada tapped home the game-winning goal with 11 seconds remaining to lift Bendabout past Audi 10-9 consolation final of the 22-goal Ylvisaker Cup presented by Cartier Thursday at International Polo Club Palm Beach.

Astrada, who was named the game’s MVP, finished with a game-high seven goals, including two in the final chukker as Bendabout rallied from an 8-6 deficit. Alejandro Novillo Astrada scored both of his goals in the sixth chukker. Patron Gillian Johnston and Will Johnston did not score.

Gonzalito Pieres led Audi with four goals while Brandon Phillips added three goals and patron Marc Ganzi and Juan Bollini scored one goal apiece.

The Ylvisaker Cup in named in honor of William T. “Bill” Ylvisaker, a polo pioneer who founded Palm Beach Polo and Country Club in the late 1970s, bringing the sport to the forefront in Palm Beach County. A former Chairman of the USPA, Ylvisaker was elected into the Polo Hall of Fame in 1996. Ylvisaker has won numerous major polo tournaments, including the prestigious U.S. Open in 1972.

The polo matches are open to the public. General admission for the Sunday games at International Polo Club Palm Beach is $10 for adults. Children under 3 enter for free. Tickets may be purchased at the gate on the day of the game or in advance at the stadium box office.
