In earlier action the Spencewood Ranch team of Toby Wayman, Brad Blake, Sugar Erskine and Todd Offen won a round-robin tournament against Audi Polo ( Kent Firestone, Kris Kampsen, Nicolas Roldan and Julio Gracida) and Just World International (Weston Gracida, Brandon Phillips, Jeff Hall and Chris Nevins) in the Jimmer Newman Memorial tournament.
Spencewood Ranch beat Audi 8-4 and tied Just World International 3-3 but won the contest on net goals. Just International defeated Audi 4-2 while tying Spencewood Ranch. Spencewood scored a total of 11 goals, Just International scored a total of just seven goals.
