Round 1 was complete in the 12-Goal League as Windsor Capital in their second game stopped The Hawks in a last second try to save the game, which was so close. The Governor, Pat Nesbitt of Windsor Cap. Team, showed his mettle as he had a very tough day dealing with the Youngest Gun out there Mini Mac (Julian Mannix). Nesbitt did his job and kept him off the board. This game tied at the end of the first chukker. Windsor Cap. was up by 2 at the end of the 2nd an a monster chukker by the Hawks in the 3rd beating Windsor by a score of 5 to 1, to go up by 3. They had to play catch up for the 4 th and 5th and tied up at the end of the 5th. Windsor got the winning goal in the 6th and held on, so they leave round 2 with a 1 & 1.
In other 12-goal action at High Noon it was The Colorado Cow Girl (Jenny Luttrell) doing a big one as Cottrell Farms, in a giant shoot out, were able to keep the guns of Valiente just under control and they get the win for round 2 and also go to 1 & 1.
In the 8-goal it was a busy day as Mini Mac (Julian Mannix) showed his Big bro-type speed as he scored 6 goals in a losing effort to Ms. Geiler, who did her job well today. It was good to see her moving so quickly. So OC gets back on the + side with game one of the second Month of league play.
True Choice/Summerland lost their big Gun and Rapid Robert Kiger could not carry the team once Bilo went out with an injury. The International team of Parklane went through for a big win. Word on the street is Bilo will be back. He just needs a little time to get a quick fix on his bum leg, so they have to have a sub on Sunday. It was also the first game for another new team as Phoenix came blowing into town and Gary Hayden gets his first run of the winter season. He came up a little short, but only out by 1 to a very tough Mr. Smooth (Curt Hughes) as Friendly Chevy was able to 1 up ’em and get a Win in the first round.
Down south Shane Rice plays and I am not sure who won, but I will be all over it after the Super Bowl.
