PENNINSULA POLO MATCH SET TO BE A SOCIAL AFFAIR
Match Promises to be as Engaging on the Field as Off
ATHERTON, CALIF., Sept. 9, 2011 – Thirty-Two men and women amateur and professional polo players from Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and New York – with about 125 horses – will compete for trophies in the finals of the First Annual Silicon Valley Polo Classic – The ExpertQuote Cup on Sunday, Sept 25th. The tournament will be played at The Menlo Circus Club, 190 Park Lane, Atherton, California. Opening ceremonies will begin at 10:30am and last match is estimated to end at 5:00pm.
In addition to our title sponsor – ExpertQuote, a strategic benefits consulting firm – other sponsors include The Four Seasons Silicon Valley, Land Rover, Stella Artois, Coupa Café, Cheval Polo, Wilkes Bashford, Pure Swiss Water, K&L Winery, Sunset Magazine and State Farm, Amanda J Martin. VIPs will be treated to Blue Sky Vodka, Tierras Tequila, Lefty O’Douls Mixers and Hobee’s Coffee Cake among others.
The polo match promises to be just as engaging off the field as on. Stella Artois will host “The Stella Stomp” – the longstanding social tradition at polo matches where spectators take to the field with libation in hand to stomp down torn up turf. A handful of local wineries will be present and pouring tastes of their top wines. And Land Rover will lead the parade on the field with their signature luxury SUVs.
General admission to the tournament is free. Seating is limited and spectators are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for sitting.
