Canada’s Freddie Mannix has been selected to appear on the Commonwealth team in the 2016 Royal Salute Coronation Cup. Mannix will carry an 8-goal handicap into the competition and will be joined by Pakistani 6-goaler Hissan Ali Hyder, Australian 6-goaler Chris Mackenzie and New Zealand 7-goaler John Paul Clarkin.

Mannix played as a member of the Audi polo team (Marc Ganzi, Rodrigo Andrade, Gonzalo Pieres and Freddie Mannix) in Florida’s 26-goal polo for the past two years, winning the gold cup in 2015 and 2016. As the playing captain of his Alegria high-goal team in Argentina, he led his team to the finals of the Argentine Open in 2013.

The Commonwealth team will face a talented young English team in Jack Richardson (6), Max Charlton (7), James Beim (7) and James Harper (6).

The game is scheduled to be played on Saturday, July 23rd at the Guards Polo Club.
