The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder
I like the Number 13. It just kind of seems like such a great number at the Casinos or on the Racetrack. This Friday falls on the 13th and there is POLO everywhere you go. In the Coachela Valley there is arena polo and grass polo. There will be ponies moving quick as at Eldorado has the Skins tournament underway. Empire is into the semis for last one before the big one, the Champions Cup, starts in a week .
Palm Beach is alive at every level. Joey Casey’s brand new digs, Palm City Polo, with brand new grass that is making a lot of people talk. Several people think it may be the best field in Florida this year. In Sarasota, Tom H. keeps the show running. JN and crew are making the big show go at IPC.
Here on the West Coast the sun is shining and the weather has been perfect. We have not had any rain and I think it got into the 30’s one night this year so far, not sure why everyone is not here.

Today there are 3 games in the Skins for round 2. The English are here for the annual USA- UK battle (The Townsend Cup) at the amazing Empire Polo Club. The USA Team has West coast player, Jared Sheldon paired up with Kris Kampsen and 10-goal Tom Biddle. It should be a good one. Check it out from the Grass to the dirt there will be big time action. This is March Madness at it’s best .
