It may have been Friday the 13th, but it was a high-test day for David Ragland as he often came through with some huge plays to put his team in the Win column. They defeated a tough Cotterel Farms foursome or maybe fivesome, as Jenny Luttrell was not able to finish after 6 weeks off and taking on two games was even tough for her. She gave up a couple of chukkers. It was fun to watch as the Okie’s out play the Argies to finish the game with a WIN in overtime. One of the best plays was when Ferg Gould came down with no whistle and a clear shot on goal by CF was taken across goal by David to deny a sure goal for CF. Ferg the Palomino got lots of help from young Gun Tony Uretz as well. It was played on a very good field which is a big + for EDPC as they look for some positive things.
In the 12 goal it was the Hawks also taking the fun away from Cotterell Farms as they displayed the triple J’s with Julian Mannix, Juan Curbelo and Joe Henderson and rode away with that one. In the final game of the day, it was a hard-riding Antelope being a goal better than Valiente, who had their chance, but a couple of errors by the front end cost them in the final few minutes as a big rally in the 5th coming back from 3 goals down. In this game I thought both Patrons Geoff Palmer and Bob J. were very much in the game and made numerous big plays. It was Geoff Palmer with the last giggle as he got very big effort from another young gun Clemente Zavaleta and the French Lady Ms. Anier. It was a little windy and the wind took the goal pot out of play, but not the action which continues this weekend if Mother nature agree’s to let them run.?
Bud Dardi is heading the new Board and they have been in place for a week. They definitely have improvement on their minds as Chris Collins headed a group decision to set things straight and get word out that this is a place to be happy. We want you to feel the same all winter long. Good fields, good polo will take a lot of stress away and leave you with a smile.
Action also got underway at La Quinta Polo on Thursday as they made up for games lost last weekend and there were lots of happy faces as the fields played well. The and the parties start tonight as teams from Houston, Arizona and Thermal get it on today. ?HAVE A HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. See?see ya at EDPC . . . the new ONE.
