The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder
It was a busy day for Mr. Palmer and Antelope, but they got it done. Antelope only trailed once at the end of the first chukker, but just kept on rolling in their winning ways. I think Geof Palmer was 100 % on his penalties and that was the margin of victory over Klentner Ranch, who was the same finalist last time. The game was steady with a lot of fouls, as has been the run this year. Not all that well done in my opinion, but it is only mine. I do think these videos should be reviewed because it is only a matter of time until it will be a big problem.
The weather has been very good for June thus far and we have been blessed with no June Gloom. And of course, no rain.
In the consolation finals we had a great treat. The Face of polo, Nacho Figueras, took the field for Phil Mactaggart’s HAWK HILL in place of Gringo, who is out with a broken wing. Nacho filled in well as Hawk Hill jumped out to an early 3 goal lead, but Farmers & Merchant got on a roll after that and with young Gun Charlie Walker leading the charge rolled on to the lead and finished the day in the lead.
We had some great visitors here this weekend besides Nacho and his Lovely wife Delfina. Ben Vesty of the UK and a great newcomer to pPolo from the land of Lakes, Mark Anderson. We hope they both return asap with white pants. The final 12-goal of the season, the PC Inter Circuit, was drawn for tonight and it looks like this …

Across the pond a couple of locals got knocked out as Zacara, Ben Solemani and RH lost in the quarters of the Queens Cup, which is the first big one in Europe. Sapo Casset is still in the hunt as he goes to the semis this week.
San Diego Party town started their league yesterday, but I have not heard any results so far. I am sure it was a let down after 4 thousand people on Opening Day. I think they started up in Texas as well. I heard it was not raining for the first time in 40 days.
