I have to say Marc Ganzi has done many things you could never expect and today was proof of it. He will never go away, that I am sure of.  I knew Marc’s Dad Wally and he was a double tough good guy and rarely ruffled any feathers.  Wally enjoyed the sport of Polo very much. Twenty some years later I met Marc and did not know how this could be Wally’s son.  Wally was just tough and you never knew it because he just never seemed to be anything other than a Country Gent out for a stroll as most of us know NOW his stroll had a reason . Marc is like fire and ice.  Different he is . . . all fire and sets a tone asap of oh sh–, and then you get to know him a little . Marc and Mellisa have probably done as much for Polo in the last 4 years as any other two big Patrons. And yes, Marc has been on the wrong side of the law a few times for sure, but Melissa is the glue that keeps it all ticking. Marc, having been sat down for a year over an incident, had too much time to think and damn he did a hell of a lot of clever thinking.  This I know was a kickback of his Pop, he said little just planned and he did it well.  The way I see it,  he maneuvered the Polo Assoc. into a place nobody has ever seen. Peter Brant was good, but Marc is better.  He took his penalty and built a Dynamo.   Since coming off his term of  non-USPA events, Marc has won about 90% of the tournaments he has played in and has kept himself at 1-goal.  This is the best one . . .  kept probably one of the top 3 players in the world at 9 goals, so his teams have been at least 2 goals underrated for almost a year. In this world that’s an edge that seldom gets beat and he rarely does.  He did it all by the book and they know it because I have tried to stop it here last summer, but it could not be done.  He has a handle on the Blue Book and most of all the connection that makes it tick.  So far he has won the biggest tournament we have in the U.S. and he picked a perfect partner when he picked Gonzo Pieres, Jr.,  who’s Dad was the Master of Polo in the 80’s with John T. Oxley and Peter Brant,  and just kept right on ticking.  I would have to say this is not the end of the road as I think he just got on the turnpike to being a Polo Master.

My hats off to the Audi team. I think it’s awesome.  I knew Gonzalo Sr. when he came to the U.S. and he was amazing on the field and off.  His Wife was a dream and they now have a dream of a family for Polo and even their daughter is married to a 10-goaler.  Thanks to Marc Ganzi its just a DREAM COME TRUE .
