Aiken, SC – 302 Polo and the Hitchcock Woods Foundation joined together on Saturday May 2, to present a 30 Goal match between MavOffice.com and Designer Builders, which featured eight of the top players in the US, seven of which call Aiken home.  MavOffice.com’s Horacio Onetto (5), Tiger Kneece(6), Adam Snow  (8) and Tommy Biddle (7) faced off against Designer Builders Julian Daniels (6), Julio Arellano (8), Owen Rinehart (7) and Shane Rice (5).

Despite the impending showers, New Bridge’s field number one came alive with  Designer Builders coming on strong and taking a commanding lead of 2 – 0 within the first minutes of the game’s opening chukker.  Their streak continued in the second with an additional goal for Designer Builders, unanswered by MavOffice.com.  The third commenced with a fast goal from the MavOffice.com with an awesome goal scored from the field resulting in a score of 3 – 2, MavOffice.com only down by one at the half.

After the halftime festivities, the game continued through a mild summer sprinkle.  The Designer Builders team continued through the fourth chukker with four unanswered goals.  The fifth and the sixth were evenly played with both teams scoring the same number of goals; however, MavOffice.com couldn’t trump the early lead that Designer Builders had staked.  The contest ended with Designer Builders defeating MavOffice.com soundly 11-8.
The Hitchcock Woods Foundation presented prizes to both teams as a personal thank you to each of the players for supporting the Hitchcock Woods and for participating in the match that brought out a great crowd in support of such a wonderful cause.  The MVP was awarded to Julian Daniels for his outstanding play in the fifth chukker and the Best Playing Pony was awarded to “Sasha”, played by Julio Arellano and owned by Beth Skolnik.  After the exciting match, all guests were treated to an array of summer specialties by Chef Jacqui Southerland of Stir the Pot and her assistants.  The fun continued at the clubhouse for the running of the Kentucky Derby.  A special thanks to Barb and Tom Uskup, Hotel Aiken, and Todd Stilp for sponsoring the “Derby Party” giving everyone the chance for a wonderful ending to a spectacular day of polo!   All proceeds from today’s event will go to support the “Crown Jewel of Aiken” the Hitchcock Woods.
