It was a very nice day for polo as the desert weather was awesome at Eldorado PC. It was Corleone who took the Cup this weekend and they pretty much kicked a _ _ most of the time. The reason this team did so well was because the Rookies Gabe Fernandez and Wild Bill Freeman stepped up and their team rolled. On Saturday it was the Bill and Ferg (Fergus Gould) show and on Sunday it was the Gabe and Palomino (Jason Crowder) show. The results were the same on both days as they had a far more bitter battle today with the hard-charging Ed Pope and company of Aspen Oaks. They would just not go away. Aspen was down 3 times by 2 and they would just come back to close the gap. They were up by 1, but it was Young Gun Gabe Fernandez who took it to the turn. He caught a throw in mid air hit his way and headed to goal like the pony express and he did deliver the mail. His goal put Corleone up by 1. The Palomino had his trademark goal at the end of the chukker to seal the deal and put the silver in the hands of Coreleone Polo. The final score was a 2 goal spread. As the shortest day of the year and Santa Claus heads to town things slow down. It is time to head South to Costa Careyes for a little XMAS cheer because come Jan 5th there is nothing but polo at El Dorado 24 /7 for the next 3 months. That is what it is all about isn’t it. In the consolation of the 8-goal Holiday Cup it was Dina Stuart leading the boys forward as Carnation Farms rolled over G and L Ranch.
In the low goal it was Rookie Vladimir Rivkin leading the charge as he swept the Fall Series winning them all in a very nice fashion. Double Eagle won today beating a hard-working Mueller family.
