The International Arena Polo Test Match returns to British shores on Saturday 3rd March to the All England Polo Club, Hickstead. The USA are sending a 21-goal American side across the water; formed of Tommy Biddle, John Gobin and Brad Blake, to battle it out in Hickstead’s state of the art arena against Team England for the coveted Bryan Morrison Trophy.
Europe’s highest handicapped arena player, nine-goaler Chris Hyde, is to Captain Team England in a quest to repeat their British victory of 2009 when the two nations last met in the arena. Hyde will be locking horns with the USA’s ‘10-Goal Tommy,’ only the fourth player in the history of the arena version of the sport to attain the ultimate 10-goal handicap, a feat that is yet to be accomplished on the UK arena circuit. The action will set forth at Hickstead with a High Goal Challenge Match, before the International Test itself at 1.30pm.
Once the final whistle blows, guests can enjoy the occasion to meet and mingle with the players at the post match luncheon hosted in Hickstead’s distinguished Members Enclosure Restaurant. What better way to compliment the day’s play… and all in the company of the elite of British and American polo.
Be part of the spectacle in the UK winter polo calendar, witness the USA’s ’10-goal Tommy’ perform on Hickstead’s arena stage and support Britain’s Chris Hyde and his teammates in their pursuit to defend their title… it is set to be a keen contest!
