Calgary, Alberta (July 4, 2007) – Palmer Ranch started their 12 goal season in Calgary on a winning note with an 8 – 6 victory over Dyan Leyshon – Pettigrew’s Cymric Glen. In game two of the J Vair Anderson Cup, and  Lee Nillson substituting for an injured Cam Bailey, Scott Palmer’s cowboys were awarded a lead of two to start with on the handicap difference and it held up at the end.

With Pedro Orellana scoring four goals (2 foul)  and Captain Canada, Marcello Rodriguez – Abbiati adding a pair, the victors were never behind.

Jeff Hall led the runners-up with three markers while Matthew Schwartz added two (1 foul) and Mike Kerely had one.

Game three is scheduled for Thursday and will see Tusk Energy in their first game, against what appears to be a very tough Millarville team, although the consensus is that it will be a little more difficult for Fred H. Mannix and crew than it was in game one. Note that Fish Creek, for this tournament, is now known as Millarville.

Palmer Ranch (10) – Scott Palmer, Lee Nillson, Marcello Rodriguez – Abbiati 5, Pedro Orellana 5.

Cymric Glen (12) – Dyan Leyshon – Pettigrew, Jeff Hall 8, Mike Kerely 3, Matthew Schwartz 1.
