Calgary, Alberta (July10, 2007) – By virtue of a 15 – 5  victory over Palmer Ranch, Fred H. Mannix and his Millarville quartet advanced to the J Vair Anderson cup final against Tusk Energy.

For Scott Palmer’s  cowboys, who were without Cam Bailey, the situation went to critical  early on as Pedro Orellana was injured shortly after the start of the second period. Felipe Paradela replaced Orellana but it was clear, even then,  that Millarville would romp.

If there was any thought that Mannix  might be suffering jet-lag after a four day trip to England, it was dispelled right away as he scored two goals in the first 85 seconds of the game on his way to a 10 goal performance (1 foul). Daniel Roenisch notched three, and Julian Mannix had a pair (1 foul).

For Palmer Ranch, with two at the start,  Marcello Rodriguez-Abiatti converted two penalty fours and Paradela sunk an open goal opportunity.

As it now stands the final will be a rematch as Tusk defeated Millarville 12 – 10 in a previous J Vair Anderson Cup game. The Calgary Stampede is currently going on and everyone expects another wild west show Thursday evening  –  at the polo club.

Millarville (12) –  Fred H. Mannix 7, Daniel Roenisch 5, Julian Mannix, Julie Roenisch.

Palmer Ranch (10) –  Scott Palmer, Lee Nillson, Marcello Rodriguez-Abiatti 5, Pedro Orellana 5, *Felipe Paradela 2. * substitute for Orellana.
