Aiken Gears up for the Polo Event of the Season as field-side viewing options are revealed

Aiken, SC – Tickets for what is being heralded as the ‘Polo Event of the Season’ go on sale today with a variety of innovative and enticing viewing options for spectators at the third leg of the ESPN-televised Triple Crown of Polo Championship Series taking place from September 5 – September 22 (finals) at the New Bridge Polo and Country Club

“Fans are able to select from several options for viewing the tournament games, from private cabanas, elevated viewing decks, luxury sky-boxes to individual tickets inside the VIP Chairman’s Club or general admission tickets. There truly is an option for everyone to participate in this all-embracing community event,” said David McLane, president of the Triple Crown of Polo [TCP].

Polo players from across the globe will compete for the coveted Tiffany and Co Triple Crown of Polo Trophy with weekend feature games expected to draw spectators by the thousand.

“In working with the Aiken Downtown Development Association, the Aiken TCP Committee, which consists of Janet Morris, Tina McCarthy, Dacre Stoker, and Sarah Eakin, has staged what will truly be the best organized polo event of the Triple Crown of Polo Championship Series history,” said McLane.

For the fans wanting to capture all the casual fun in the sun on a budget there are single day admission tickets for $10 to families wanting to experience field-side tailgating for $75. Those corporations and executives looking for a special hospitality opportunity may extend an invitation to clients and guests to join them in viewing the action from a luxury Sky Box (Packages for $15,000 which provides accommodations for 40 guests in a 16’ high 20’x 32’ space with tiered seating and adjoining hospitality for each of the three weekends of action.)

“Based on fans past use, we know the Cabana ticket offering is one of the most popular for individuals and corporations wanting to entertain guests over the duration of the three week tournament,” said McLane. The Polo Cabanas provide private viewing of the feature games inside a 15’ x 15’ tent for individuals and/or corporations and their guests. Each Cabana purchase is for the entire three weekend games and includes 20 tickets and 10 parking passes to be shared with guest per event. Cabanas are located on the West side of the playing field near the center field club house.

“In addition and new for this year, Mike Fanning of Aiken’s All-Star Rents has created a Viewing Deck,” said McLane. “I know fans will love the elevated sight lines of the entire playing field.” The Viewing Deck provides a 20’ x 20” space with tiered seating which is 48 inches off the ground complete with VIP tickets and parking. At $9,500 for the three week tournament, this ticket option is positioned squarely in the middle of the top-tier Sky Box offering and the Cabana offering for entertaining a group of guests over the duration of the tournament.

The Triple Crown of Polo kicks off on September 5 with a launch party at the Willcox Hotel when the celebrated TCP trophy will be unveiled. Action continues through September with three feature weekend games culminating in the finals on September 22 when high goal action will be taped and later aired nationally and internationally on ESPN 2 and ESPN International. Tickets can be bought online at www.triplecrownofpolo.com or purchased at the offices of the Aiken Downtown Development Association, located at 208 The Alley, Aiken.

The Triple Crown of Polo Championship Series is sponsored by Lexus and Tiffany and Co. Participating sponsors for the third leg of the Triple Crown of Polo are The Carolina Company, UPS, the Aiken Standard and Via Mizner – a ‘Lilly Pulitzer’ Signature Store.
