West Linn, OR (July 6, 2008) – The Fourth of July has always been special for Sean Keys, and with his new polo facility available, what better way is there to spend the day than playing polo at the new set-up? In fact, it was the second Independance Day Game at Key’s Hidden Creek Polo Club – a very short drive south of Portland – which isn’t scheduled to fully open until 2009.
For this year’s game, the USPA was very well represented with Pacific North West Circuit Governor George Dill and USPA Executive Director Peter Rizzo in the line-ups. Dill rode with Keys, club manager Graham Bray, and Jorge Banco, while Rizzo saddled up with Dan Harrison, Kimo Huddleston, and Jesse Bray.
In front of a very involved and large gathering on the viewing berm and with cars completely lining the other side of the playing surface, Key’s Hidden Creek foursome prevailed over the Polo Magazine by a count of 7 – 5 in a game that wasn’t decided until the final chukker. Taking advantage of the powerful and accurate passing of the big Bray, Dill was high scorer with three goals.
Hidden Creek – Sean Keys 1, George Dill, Graham Bray 5, Jorge Banco 2.
The Polo Magazine – Peter Rizzo 2, Dan Harrison 2, Kimo Huddleston 4, Jesse Bray 1.
