Its July and its a very sunny weekend. Even with the end of June going sunny. Its the weather people come to California for and to enjoy. It was a super day for polo at San Diego Polo Club. Santa Barbara was dark for the week as they are on a short break.
It was a southern flavor in the party land (San Diego) and the polo was well, just peachy. Only 1 out of 5 games was really close and that was Billy Boy (Bill Hoyman) and his M&M’s pulling one out of their hat to beat Ziggy (Bill Ziering) in overtime in the 4-goal. They are 2 & 0 now. In other 4-goal action it was Mrs. Ellie (Ellen Greenhill of Monteverde) getting back on track as they stopped Ms. Wilson (Adeptus Team) so both go to 1 & 1. It was TrueChoice/OC going to 1 & 1 as they blew by Princeps in the 1:30 pm game on the main field.
In the 10-goal it was Gypsy/OC with a pair of Ladies Suzanne Figi & Shelley Geiler laying down Lady’s law as they sent the Palomino (Jason Crowder) and the Lawman (Matt Ladin) to a big hole at 0 & 2 and their team is now out of the running. In the featured match of the day it was Tri Tech/Madison Sq. getting a lamb-blasting from Big Ed Popeand his Mexican Sec. of Defense as Aspen Oaks go to 2 & 0 with their table set for the finals. If there is not a miracle they will play the “S” girls (Suzanne & Shelley) where they have the Guti (Mariano Gutierrez) breaking waves for the Surfer (Diego Cossio).
So here is the way it is come Friday. In the 10-Goal Ohana takes on Phoenix and they are both looking for a win. In the late game its Gypsy/OC taking on Aspen Oaks which could be repeated on Sunday in the finals. Also on Friday its True Choice/OC taking on M&M at 5 p.m.
So have a very good 4th of July. I do say one for the boys and girls far away defending our 4th. We will see you Friday.
Back East in Greenwich, CT it was young Santi Torres doing it well in as they won one in the East coast Open this past weekend. See ya.
