Tackeria took on Bloomfield for the second time this summer at Saratoga Polo on Sunday, emerging the winner this time in a tough back and fourth match with a final of 4-3.

Both teams played an incredibly physical and defensively stingy match, with almost no scoring by polo standards.  The match began same as the last with Tab Orthwein getting a lead off goal for Bloomfield.

The next goal came in the following chukker from Tab’s husband Will scoring on a penalty.  Tackeria finally got on the board in the end of the second with a tally from Wayne Kant.

Gene Gass, who did a lot of work in the backfield breaking up plays for Tackeria, tied it up 2-2 off a penalty shot in third chukker, but Ed Burns notched a goal in the fourth to give Bloomfield their slim lead back.

Unfortunately for Bloomfield, Burns’ score would be their last of the evening, while Kant had his second in the fifth to tie the game at 3-3 and Tony Coppola notched the game winner in the sixth with time running out.

The next match at Saratoga Polo will be on Wednesday at 5:30pm.  Matches will be played every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday until Labor Day weekend.  For more information, call 518-584-8108 or visit saratogapolo.com.
