Santa Clara’s Ruben Gracida

La Herradura (Tony Calle, Richard Dude, Tom Blake and Omar Sosa) scored wins over Santa Clara (Nico Escobar, Ruben Gracida, Max Secunda and Federico Escobar) and Agua Clara (Teo Calle, Wes Finlayson, Luis Escobar and Mauricio Herrera) Friday morning at Wellington’s Santa Clara Polo Club in the County Line Hay 8-goal Round-Robin Tournament.
La Herradura began the morning by handing Santa Clara a 5-4 defeat with Tony Calle and Omar Sosa scoring two goals apiece and Tom Blake adding a goal in the win. Max Secunda led the Santa Clara attack with three goals, and Ruben Gracida added a goal in the loss.
La Herradura continued its run as it rolled over Agua Clara 4-2. Omar Sosa scored twice with teammates Richard Dude and Tony Calle adding single goals for the win. Agua Clara got single goals from Wes Finlayson and Luis Escobar.
In the final matchup of the day Agua Clara rode past Santa Clara in a 4-1 match.
Wes Finlay son led the Agua Clara attack with two goals. Teo Calle and Luis Escobar added single goals in the win. Ruben Gracida scored the only goal for the Santa Clara foursome.
Tournament play will continue on Saturday at 4PM when the three teams will take the field once again with the team with the best record taking top honors in the tournament.
