The field of qualifiers for the Hurlingham Open and Argentine Open lost two more entries on Tuesday afternoon when Chapaleufú (Alberto Heguy, Francisco Elizalde, Bautista Heguy and Eduardo Heguy) scored a 15-11 win over La Vanguardia (Ignacio Laprida, Gonzalo Deltour, Ezequiel M. Ferrario and Santiago Toccalino), handing La Vanguardia their second loss and eliminating them from play. Magual (Alejandro Muzzio, Ignacio Toccalino, Marcos Di Paola and Jaime Huidobro) followed up the Chapaleufú win with a victory of their own in a 13-5 thrashing of Las Overas (Salvador Ulloa, Valerio Zubiaurre, Guillermo Willington and Alfredo C. Barabucci).
The semifinals of the qualifying round will find Chapaleufú meeting La Matera (Diego Cavanagh, Guillermo Terrera, Ignatius Du Plessis and Tomás García Del Río) in a 3PM contest on Monday, October 7.
Magual take to the field at 3PM on Tuesday, October 8 and will face Cuatro Vientos (Juan M. Zavaleta, Juan A. G. Grossi, Alejandro Agote and Santiago Tanoira).
The two winners will join Alegria (Pablo Pieres, Lucas Monteverde, Hilario Ulloa, Frederick Mannix), La Dolfina (Adolfo Cambiaso, Pelon Stirling, Pablo MacDonough and Juan Martín Nero), La Aguada (Guillermo Terrera, Facundo Sola, Miguel Novillo Astrada, and Nacho Novillo Astrada), Ellerstina/Piaget (Facundo Pieres, Gonzalito Pieres, Mariano Aguerre and Nicolás Pieres), La Aguada – Las Monjitas (Agustin Merlos, Magoo Laprida, Eduardo Novillo Astrada, Alejandro Novillo Astrada) and La Natividad (Sapo Caset, Nachi Heguy, Rodrigo Andrade and Lolo Castagnola) in the opening rounds of the Hurlingham Open which gets started on Tuesday, October 15. La Dolfina will return to defend their 2012 Hurlingham Open title.
