Thermal, CA (March 6, 2008) – Polo resumes at the La Quinta Polo Club on Saturday with the Tri Tech Tournament as Tri Tech Polo presents the first annual La Quinta Skins Tournament to benefit the United Pegasus Foundation.
The tournament will follow the La Quinta format of each of four teams playing the other and the top two teams playing in the final on Sunday, March 16, 2008. The final, however, will be a skins game with $4,000 up for grabs in each chukker, for a total of $24,000.
The pairings in this tournament will be drawn as opposed to the practice of management setting the teams. The draw will take place at a pre-tournament gathering on Friday evening.
Many of the La Quinta members have pledged a portion of their winnings to the United Pegasus Foundation and its efforts to help unwanted horses – both ex- race and PMU animals.
The Tri Tech Tournament will start on Saturday, March 8, 2008 with games at 12 noon and 2PM.
