Thermal, CA (March 15, 2008) – By virtue of a 6 – 5 victory over Chris Maloney and Jesse Bray’s TriTech/La Quinta, Sean Keys and Steven Armour will take their Hidden Creek/Shanghai quartet to the final of the La Quinta Skins Game. The $24,000 final, coincidentally, will be a re-match of Saturday’s game.
Needing a win to advance, Keys and Armour received one at the start, and led by that goal after the first, but were tied after the next four. Two goals in the sixth however, by Keys and Armour, to just one for Tri Tech/La Quinta secured the spot in Sunday’s final.
For the winners, ArmourĀ and Graham Bray scored two each, while Keys provided one. The handicap award completed the tally.
Gaston von Wernich and Jesse Bray (1 foul) scored a pair each for Tri Tech/La Quinta and Maloney had one.
With Keys and Armour advancing to the final, the second game of the afternoon between Kelly Maloney and Craig Steinke’s Ohana/Stormcat and David Ragland and Bill Freeman’s Pink Deco/Corleone meant nothing. Ragland and Freeman squeezed out an 8 – 7 advantage.
The La Quinta Skins Game, to benefit the United Pegasus Foundation, between Tri Tech/La Quinta and Hidden Creek/Shanghai, will be played Sunday at 1 PM.
